My system:
FX-6300 @ 4,6 Ghz
Saphhire R9 270
8 GB Kingmax 1333 Mhz
Seagate Barracude 1 TB 7200 rpm
SAGA II 550W power supply

aaand the ASUS M5A97 R2.0

im not getting the expected performance so far.. i mean i saw a guy on yt with the same cpu @ gpu in crysis 3 in very high getting 40-70 fps im barely getting 40 in high and its also not smooth. CS:GO has relatievly low fps with huge drops and laggy gameplay. however bf3 ran relatievly well.

-all drivers up to date
-freshest bios
-temps are good (cpu about 55° gpu 57-58° while gaming)
-hard drive and psu are working fine

all i can think about now that the old 970 chipset somehow holds me back from getting the performance i should be. what are your thoughts?

Adjust settings overall may help a little

What i'm talking about is BAD Programming or a Design Flaw or fundamental Driver issue.
IE the action to render smoke or a certain particle effect in-game is not multi threaded or runs on a single pipe process on your GFX Card.

Resulting in as documented on that Youtube video. GFX is not using all it ability only running at 50% not 100% and FPS drops by 1/2.

Hence why I asked you to Specifically Turn off and Max "1 Effect" at a time to see if this made a substantial difference. You May luck out and Find a specific effect that is the Issue.

There are 2 Ways to do this - In-game settings And the Actual Driver Settings.

That user could not find out what it was and probably only messed with a few basic settings. What i'm asking you to do is a lot more. If you have the time and patience to proceed, If not do what he did.

i dont see your point. i tried multiple games on different graphics settings. same issue every time. looks like cpu bottleneck.
i had an another idea. cause somehow my config doesnt want to work with fx cpus. what if i get a phenom ? like x6 1090t or something.

i really appriciate that you still trying to help me. thanks a lot!
