Would a new PSU, such as the EVGA 400 N1 be compatible with the motherboard of a HP 6300 Pro SFF pc with an i5?

No. First, you almost certainly have a small form factor or proprietary case design on that prebuilt system, so a standard ATX or microATX power supply probably wont' even bolt up or fit anyhow. And, that motherboard uses a proprietary power connector, not a standard 20 or 24 pin ATX power connector. You will either need to buy an OEM replacement power supply that is the same as the original, or a SFF power supply with adapters, or get a different case and motherboard. Standard parts don't work, usually, at all with prebuilt proprietary systems.
