Hey Guys,
I just upgraded my old rig to an x99 platform and when i went to boot up the fans would spin up but i would get no beeps, and no video. The LCD display on the board just reads 00 and nothing else. (i was trying to get this done before i went to bed so i didn't test it out outside of the case.... stupid i know)
I am using:
MSI X99S gaming 9 AC
Antec HCP1300
MSI GTX 780ti SLI
Crucial 16gb (4x4gb)
Samsung 840 pro
Thinking back on it my case came with some M-ATX standoffs in it and while i think i got them all, from what i have read one of them may be shorting the board? Does this sound like something that would do?
I plan to do some proper diagnostics when i get off of work but i thought i would post here and see what you guys would suggest or if anyone can tell me what that 00 means on the motherboard.
I read through a couple of guides (including the one here) about some basic trouble shooting tips for mobos.
One other thing. I have my 840 pro plugged into SATA 1 and I have another SATA cable plugged into SATA 2 but not into anything. I just ran the SATA cable to make my life easier when i put the new drive in. Could the board be that picky?
As always, thanks in advance for any input guys.
