Question Motherboard dont boot with second CPU

Hi guys,
I bought an Intel S5520HC and 2 Xeon X5670, when I turn on the Server the “Beep Code” 1-5-4-4 ring. The official Error Code don't help me. I tested the mainboard, when I only have one CPU in the mainboard the server start normally. Have you any advises or tips.

And you said you can use the PC with one cpu, if you did try to both cpu in either cpu sockets, I think your PSU may have problem to power the whole PC with the two CPUs.

I still don't know which one you had. But keep in mind the MB has two 8-pin ATX connectors so that the PSU will need two 8-pin ATX cables to power the PC with two cpus, otherwise you will get that error.

This is my PSU, in the 520W Edition and yes I have wo ATX Cables to power the CPUs.

I guess your MB has the power sensor(s) problem. Return the MB.

thanks for the quick response. I have tested your link but, it says noting useful. I have the problem that I can't return the MB, because I bought it on eBay and the seller said no return. Have some other ideas what I can make?

Boot the PC with one cpu, then may try to update the BIOS, chipset driver, etc. from intel https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/36599/Intel-Server-Board-S5520HC

Hopefully the sensor(s) will work after the update, if the sensor(s) didn't have right driver, they will not work properly.

But can it be that I have to connect the Auxiliary signal power connector?

Also I read the MB service guide again, they list the PSU requirement: A minimum of 550 W is recommended, or decide your system power supply capacity using the Intel® Power Budget Tool. Your supply must provide a minimum of 3 amps of 5-V standby current or the board will not boot.

And I check your PSU, if it is the 520W, it will nor meet the 3A on 5V requirement. Also the PSU has only one 8-pin 12V. I think you need other PSU, like the 750W or 850W one.

Hi, sorry that i dont wrote back, I was abroad.
So i bought the PSU: EVGA 750 GQ. I tested first the PSU with one CPU -> worked fine, then I tested it with the second CPU but I get the same error (Beep Code 1-5-4-4). So I need your help again.
