Hi, I have an old Acer Aspire X1310 and I'm looking to upgrade it for gaming.

I'm was planning to gut it and buy a new motherboard and processor etc but preserve the case as it's pretty steam line. The back of the case however only has holes for certain connections so I wondered of there is a good motherboard I can upgrade to which will fit the back of the case or if I'm better off just going out and getting a new gaming case?

I don't think just upgrading the graphics and processor will help me out but I could be wrong? This will be my first full pc build so I really appreciate any help people can give me.

Thanks all

most cases have those holes in the back as a part of a rectangular panel that is removable so they can put different configurations into the back.

by most cases I mean ive only ever seen 1 case that didn't have this removable panel.

with the old motherboard removed take your fingers from the outside and give it a good pop. it will fall into the case.

If this is the 1 case that dosent have removable I/O shield (as that's what that panel is called) then you need to find a dremel. 😀 happy case modding!
