I recently bought an Abit NF7-S 2.0 motherboard with the Nforce2 Ultra 400 chipset. I also purchased a 2400+ Sempron. When I first got into the CMOS to check the settings, I noticed that every once in a while a random letter would be colored in. I took no real note of this. I then set up XP Pro on it, and after the installation completed and windows booted, i noticed small errors occuring on the screen. Letters would be missing, lines would be drawn across randomly. I thought that the problem would be the video card, so I slapped in an old 4mb PCI card. When I booted up, I got random dots across the screen. The CPU is clocked correctly and is running around 34-37 degrees celsius. The mobo is hitting about 30 degrees, so Im sure that it is not a cooling problem. I then swapped out the memory, cpu, and power supply to no avail. I was wondering if flashing the BIOS would help this problem.
