When i was at work my wife was reading emails and the computer shut off. computers not been messed with or anything in about 3 weeks ( when i blew it out damn dust elephants in there.) Besides that, worked great with my games and regular day stuff. Now to the problem, when i turn it on after this unfortunate event or it cutting off on her, the computer wont post, not just that, the computer wont even power up. The MB lights come on, but no fans or anything. so being me i took all out tried 1 stick the works, not new to computers i tried everything. I knew the comp was getting power but the MB or cpu must be out of wack. I ordered a bit stronger PSU which is the one i posted above just in case if was the PSU being crappy and fried something. The computer wasnt overclocked at the time, and wasnt hot, i got a huge cooler on it, so thats not an issue of overheating. Im leaning towards MB but just wanted to make sure its not the CPU. I took the cpu out and no burns, no blemishes or anything, Looks fine. the 775 doesnt have pins so no "bent" pins though be kind of hard to bend a pin when the computers turned on and not open :p. Its not the Vid, Ram, HD, or sound card. Any help would be awesome. Also there are a few others with this

You hang with a bad crowd :)

Anyhow, I think I once had that board (disk controller or sata connector failure), but that won't help us.

I can only suggest disconnecting ALL devices especially all USB cables. Then clear CMOS and reboot. Power off, install keyboard, reboot. Get into BIOS (if you can), restore defaults and save. Power off. if you got this far, install HD, vid card, reboot.

Lol, with the old and new PSU, no start, just shows the MB has power and shows the LEDS change when i hit the switch. No fans come on, both PSU's work, i rigged them to turn on and they work in another comp. I disconnected all. removed cmose reset cmos with jumpers, then put it back in and started, same thing, no post beeps/8 segment light error, or anything. no fans come on, no hdd's start up. Its Quite wierd. The only thing i can think of is maybe the Mobo blew, shorted, fizzled, causing the PSU to think the mobo is not connected>?? Im really conf
n this one. im going to take it out and see whats all going on. IM thinking it just turned off unless theres something the wifey hasnt told me.

Wouldn't be the first time :) Reminds me to ask . . . how come the woman who can remember the color of the sweater you wore on your first date can't remember when the oil light first came on in the car?

Aye, just rebuild it outside the case, one piece at a time. If no go, prolly the mobo.
