Hello everyone!

I recently installed my new MSI Z490 Tomahawk along with my RTX 3060 and the metal bracket made a scratch in the mobo. As I cannot test the PC right now, I would like to ask if someone sees a hereby damage.

Think that is not a trace really used, but for seperation of traces to reduce "noise" between them like to seperate audio from the rest of the motherboard as yours does, think you'll be fine but i could be wrong, as suggested test and see.

No way to know until you test it.

Would depend on if you completely severed the traces or not.

Quite frankly my motherboard has a million scratches there, and it still mostly works but one day I did scratch it and the audio no longer works.
Well, I see a little bit of copper. Is that dangerous?

What are your choices about what to do??
Realistically, nothing until you can test.
Likely, the motherboard will work just fine.
If it fails, return the motherboard for RMA or repair.
If it works, you are likely good for the long term.

If only lacquer layer is scratched, and traces below aren't damaged, board will work. But you will know it only when computer is turned on.

If board is not working, take it to repair.
