Hi All,

My PC boots up fine but the motherboard splash stays on the screen whilst windows is loading up. Essentially, what I see is the motherboard splash and the windows 10 loading circle going around in the middle, then it goes to the login screen normally.

I've updated my bios, tested with different graphics cards, tried it on test bench but I always get the same result.

It's not really a big issue, but it's been bugging me for a long time. I've listed what I assume are the relevant hardware components below..

Motherboard: MSI B85-G43 Gaming
CPU: i7 4770k
GPU: GTX 980

Thanks in advance,
James

Are you expecting to see the second Windows Logo Splash screen after your motherboard Splash screen? If so then you shouldn't worry too much about that not happening as long as your system and OS is functioning properly and boot times aren't suffering. Windows 10 is a little picky when it comes to installations whereby any minor tinkering can cause it to go belly up.

You could disable Fast Boot in BIOS and see if the issue persists but then again it's necessary for Windows 10's boot environment. The other thing you can try doing is reflashing your BIOS. You're on BIOS version C8, correct?

* When passing on system's specs, you should include your full load out.

If it is caching the OS boot then it won't show that screen, because the Post code doesn't go to status 00. Instead it posts a different post code and loads the boot cache. If you don't have it cached yet, it will go to 00 and starts writing the boot code as it loads.

Hopefully that makes sense to you.
