Well, I am on an Asus P9X79 WS Motherboard, my Intel Core i7-4930K Six Core CPU works terrific for my needs and has been overclocked to 4.5GHz. If Asus / Intel are not to post a new fixed BIOS update that will affect the most my work and investment.

This has to be the best way for those companies to push out all the good and old hardware in order to increase their sales by selling defective hardware !

If I am forced to update my hardware you can bet no more Asus / Intel hardware for me.

I find it very sad that x99 motherboards, which were still very much relevant until june or so last year, are not going to receive a security patch from the motherboard vendors. I have a system that is 8 months old, and I guess I am going to have to file 13 it because of security vulnerabilities. Shame on Intel for misleading us for so long, and shame on the vendors for not at least fully supporting their products until the warranties have expired.

To fix the security vulnerability (SA-00088), ASRock is still waiting for Intel's further support and we're committed to work closely with them to develop and update new BIOS for our 8/9/100/200/Z370/X99/X299 motherboard series.

8/9 is purposely removed????? For R-E-A-L-L-Y?

Go forth, and don't fix all the used boards, like z77, z87 etc., do they think it will force us to upgrade to latest hardware?

I visited 2 hardware stores yesterday and neither had anything better than a FX 580 in AMD, and NO NVIDIA better than a GT 730 in store, and the ram as now jumped up in price... its like the price of Oil right now... stupid high

Update: though I am sure I will get a reply in a can to my email, I sent Asus a request to know when the Z8/9 series will get updated. I should get a reply I used corporate channels :)
