Hey,

I need to buy some b360/h370 motherboard for intel i5-8400 / i5-8600 and i consider to pick up the model with integrated wifi like Gigabyte Aorus gaming 3 wifi. I will be connected to the internet via wifi so i don't know which choose is better; cheaper mobo + separated wireless card or mobo with integrated wifi like model above? Will separated wireless card be faster? What is better for gaming?

Sorry for my english,
Best regards,

Solution
Internal system latency will be nowhere near what network latency is. You could be running an old 10BaseT ISA network card on today's networks, and even though your transfer speeds would be slow, the ping would be identical. You should have nothing to worry about in regards to ping times.
One thing you should probably consider is your expansion slots. Having the wi-fi built in saves you a slot. This board only has 2 PCIE 1x slots, which may or may not (my guess is not) be a problem for some people. Otherwise there is no real difference in performance. The onboard wi-fi will be just as fast as any other 802.11ac wireless card... but probably not the dual band cards. If your router supports higher speeds through dual band tech, then a separate card would be the faster option.

Hey Justin, thanks for your help, that make sense.

Actually the thing i am worried about is ping. I don't mind if "data transfer" will be lower in general but i am concerned about ping. Will separated card with some antena/receiver should reach better ping for gaming?

Hi there, i hope that someone can help me with:

I'm planning to buy GIGABYTE B360M-D3H mobo to be paired with i5 8400 for my 1st gaming PC, i just need to know is there any difference between D3H and AORUS except the built-in wifi ??

I'm currently using an old PC which used a USB stick to be connected to the internet, it catches the signal from the router. I don't know what do you mean by wireless card so i hope for some clarification please :)

The AORUS mobo is pretty expensive in my country more than the D3H one, so i wanna know which is perfect for gaming, i have no problem to connect to the internet via my current USB stick but i just need to know the difference between both either built-in wifi or the USB stick ??

Please don't ignore my question.

Thanks in advance
