so in an amd build b550 is about the same as z570

and in intel build z590 is much better than b560?

i mean from looking at it b560 can’t be overclocked while b550 can. which means on average you’ll need to spend 150$ more when buying intel.

so its 150$ amd vs 300$ intel boards

are b550s really just as good as z570s? what’s the point of getting a k chip with garbage mobo 🤢🤮

im asking this question because i’m going to upgrade during holiday sales

so b550+5900x=650$
11700+z590=600$
that’s 50$ for 4 more cores but is it worth it because you don’t get as good of a motherboard?

people say b series kills a k chips performance especially an i7 or i9

so how come b series don’t affect ryzens performance?

Solution
Yes AMD motherboards are cheaper and there is little that seperates a b550 from an X570. X570 supports PCIE Gen 4 for EVERYTHING, B550 only has PCIe Gen 4 for the x16 slot(GPU) and a storage drive(m.2 nvme). So unless you "need" PCIE gen 4 for anything other than those two things, there wont be any difference.
Most* X570 boards do come with a bit better power delivery/VRMs for overclocking and such but nothing you cant do on a good B550 board.
