Here are my specs:

1.0 Ghz AMD Athlon Thunderbird with 200mhz FSB
384 MB of PC133 SDRAM
40.GB Hard 7200 RPM Hard Drive with 37 GB free
Soundblaster PCI128
Nvidia TNT2 Model 64 Pro with 32 MB of SDRAM
Windows ME

I play this game on 800 x 600 resolution with the overall graphics quality on 2. I average 40 fps but sometimes in heavy traffic or during turns, I drop to around 29 fps which isn't slow really but it looks bad with that drop. Is there any way I can improve performance drastically without dropping resolution because 640 x 480 is awful. I here that NVTweak is a good program to use but I am afraid of harming my card. Just tell me please if these are average framerates for my card. Get back soon.

Couples things: NVTweak won't harm your card- unless you use the overclock feature. Overclocking your card CAN be hazardous without adaqate cooling. So, go get NVTweak and play around with it- you can't really hurt anything.

Also, get the LAST version of the Detonator 2 drivers off of nVidia's website- this will drastically improve your 3D performance. Try the Detonator 3 drivers if the 2's don't show a increase.

As for the framerates- those are about average, but you can do better. You might want to check into getting a new video card with a machine like that. A good low budget card would be a GeForce 2 MX (SDR version) or a Radeon DDR... They're both around $100 or less.

"Signatures Still Suck"

I would like to buy a new card but I just bought 256 MB of memory for my PC two weeks ago which really makes multi-tasking smoother and easier, so I don't think my parents are going to justify me spending more money. I also just traded to get The Sims which doesn't require an accelerator so I don't need one yet.

I have standard cooling on my card so I may only be able to overclock it a little. I'm only going to do this if my system is already messed up so I can just do a Factory Restore after. If you have any more information on the what kind of gains I should expect if I o/c by maybe 10 or 20 mhz in both memory and processor, I would greatly appreciate it.

You'll see close to 50% frame rate boost if you get your GTS card to 220/400 (i.e. 30fps (min) to 45fps(min)). That's real close to what I get with mine.
