So my girlfriend finally destroyed her Motorola E5 Plus (XT1924-7).
The screen is completely shattered, nothing is visible. I decided to connect it to my PC via usb to recover all of her photos and files, but unfortunately the device is not in MTP mode.
With the screen destroyed, and the phone most likely locked, there isn't a way for me to change the required settings. I've tried a few software recovery programs with no luck.
I'm not sure what my options are for recovery. The device shows up on my PC. Would ADB be my next step?
Thanks for taking the time to read!

Go to youtube and search for enable usb debugging from PC

There you have more chances of getting your problem solved. If you can't see anything, you can't do anything, obviously.

For data transfer both "file transfer" and "MTP" should work but, it's better to do that using MTP. This only allows photos to be visible making photo/video transfer a lot easier.

I have always had problems transferring photos using the "File transfer" option. For some reason, (may be unsupported format pics) somewhere in the middle it unexpectedly stops.
