Motorola Surfboard 6120 and Dlink WBR 1310 Slow Down Issue

Hello all,

I have a new modem and my old router. When I have the modem directly into the computer I get 8 to 9mbs on my cable connection. When I plug in the router to run my skype phone and wifi I automatically get 5mb or slower... The ping goes up a bit to. I know that I will get some lag, but 3 to 4mb? really?

So do they make a faster router? Is mine broken? Any recommendations?

Well I just ended up ordering a new router from newegg. The D-Link DIR-655. Loads of reviews and mostly positive. 1gb too.... OK!
