I'll give you the short version...i ended up getting a glass L shape desk because thats all i could find that would work for my small "Tetrised" room but the monitor i bought was falsely advertized so now i need a new stand for my monitor(one that does everything). i have been looking for about 2 weeks at stands im starting to go brain dead.

so...
~Is a Clamp mount a bad idea for a glass desk?
~I can not use a wall mount, and if i should also not use the clamp, then what would be a good kind of mount to get? (i have a 27" Asus VG278HE monitor)

well my set up will be...
have bed in corner, L shaped desk at foot of bed, one side of it against the bed and the other comes out in the open space creating a "U" shape (with shelf on wall on other side to set up speakers for 5.1)
so i would really like a counterbalanced mount for height adjust and the obvious tilt but i would also like swivel for late night movies in bed and pivot so i can set up movie on bottom half and web browser on top.
my current mount has everything except pivot (which amazon falsely advertized but later fixed)

clamp stands would be the way to go here, but you have a glass desk, so you could build a small heavy wooden box (or buy one) thats only a few inches high, and palce that on the desk then attach a clamp mount to that

ya I wasn't sure since its a 27" its about 20-25lbs but i also heard maybe sandwich two pieces of wood on either side of the glass for displacement but i still wasn't sure if that would be too much if it has an "arm" extension vs looking for a pedestal or floor stand mount

i just don't know what specifically to look for or where even. most mounts are multi display mounts it seems
