my mouse feels like its on ice, it started in cs go and now its in pubg and fornite too.
i turned of mouse acceleration in game and in windows but it didnt help.

any help would be appreciated

Go back into Task Manager again

When things are running well slide the window to one side and play while watching what is going on.

Especially when the mouse starts lagging and moving on its own.

Check all Task Manager tabs and remember you can sort the lists by clicking the column headers.

Use Resource Monitor in much the same manner.

i wish it was that easy

Part of troubleshooting is "elimination".

What is that quote?

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

"Wish it was that easy"....

No disagreement here. 🙂

what exactly am i gonna see in task manager when i have 8700k and the cpu cant even get to 40% with the games im playing , ram is the same thing if it was that easy like turning off some program people would have already solved it

What you will see are the various applications, processes, services that are running an what resources each one is consuming.

You may find something running in the background that, once turned off, disabled results in no problem.

Tricky thing is that the issue, "mouse slippery" may be a combination of things.

So you simplify and isolate as much as you can - hopefully ending the problem. Then start bring back what you need one item at a time. When the mouse goes slippery again you have the culprit - or at least one of them perhaps....

Agree. It would be nice if someone else reading this thread recognizes a known issue or some error of omission or commission on my part.

In the interim all I can think to do is keep looking and trying. Some update may just quietly fix the issue and all will be well again.
