Mouse pointer moves to ul of desktop: Click on the clock, lower right, no problems. Double click on clock and the clock window opens. Close the clock window and the mouse pointer jumps to the ul of desktop. If I click anywhere on the desktop now, there is a temporary dotted-line box, then the mouse pointer jumps to the corner again. But the next time I click the pointer is normal, and stays that way until I open another window and close it.
I used the clock as an example, but same thing happens with any folder on my desktop. Sequence is, click, mouse normal. Double click to open a window, close the window, now mouse jumps. Click, mouse jumps. After that it's normal until I open another window.
If you hold down the right button on the desktop, a dotted-line box is temporarily drawn, until you let go of the button. This box is what happens during the problem, until I let go of any button.
Same thing happens when I use a usb mouse, so it's not the mouse hardware. It acts like there's a setting somewhere (haven't found it yet...) or maybe there's a virus of some sort that my Avira free doesn't show up.
Any ideas????
