Hi!
I have a couch setup, going from my PC in one room, through the wall and in to another room where said couch is. I have a 5 metre (16 feet) long USB extension cable which connects to a usb hub. The hub has it's own power source from a wall wart.
Now for the issue.
When I connect the mouse directly to the PC, it tracks just fine on the mouse pad. However, when I connect it to the hub, it refuses to track on anything but a wooden table and paper. This is weird.
Everything is USB 2.0, however, the hub won't work unless I connect it to a usb 3.0 port on my PC. I don't think this relates directly to the mouse tracking issue, but I just think this is weird as well.
The mouse is a Razer Imperator 2012 ED. The other device I'm currently connecting to the hub is a Razer Arctosa.
Another thing I'm wondering about, is why my headset won't work when connected to the hub. It works just fine when directly connected to the PC, but when connected to the hub, all I get is static in stead of real audio, and the mic barely works. The headset is a Razer Megalodon.
Any help is appreciated!
