[SOLVED] Move HDD with all files from 1 laptop to another

Hi everyone, I have 2 laptops, an old Toshiba I can't seem to find it's model, and an Acer Aspire ES1-512. What I'm planning to do is detaching the HDD from the Toshiba and put it in the Acer temporarily. I want to do this because I have important files on the Toshiba and it is very old and isn't turning on. My question is: Will there be any compatiblity issues? Will the files on the HDD stay on the HDD and I'll be able to access them if I plug it in the Acer? Are there any risks in the process? If you need anymore information I'll edit the thread.

You can't just install the HDD and expect the Acer to boot. What you should do is get a USB adapter and use that to attach the Toshiba disk to the Acer. Don't install the disk in the Acer, add it to the Acer.
