point one. As external device dvd is recognised then the firewire card is
ok.
Did you use the same cable for the cam as the dvd writer? When connecting
the cam did you get the xp ping? If not I'd suggest returning the cam as it
may well be faulty, as we have proved the cable and firewire work.
