What games if given the right treatments would you like to see
made into movies?

Off hand I can only think of a few titles that have links to video games

Tomb Raider 1 & 2

Final Fantasy

Resident Evil 1 & 2

Mario Brothers

Spy Hunter (when did this get made?)

As is, I want to see Quake II made into a movie. I think it one of the best
sci-fi concepts ever concieved as designs go, characters, buildings, the
society Stroggos is, just awesomely well done IMHO. As a somewhat
same idea as "the borg"... it works well. Anyone agree?

System Shock.

But Uwe Boll must not be allowed to have anything to do with it, except
perhaps to be cast as a victim.

I didn't know about that. That would be my choice for a film.

How about Doom? Yeah! Some badass like The Rock could play the marine.

And then there's that Riddick character. Cold as ice. That game would be an
awesome movie! Um, wait...

In all seriousness, and even though it's the opposite of what you're asking,
I still think Pitch Black would make a great game. Taking on those aliens in
near-dark settings, not to mention the different hues used throughout the
film, would open up some great opportunities for level design.

But he's making BAD game movies that seem designed to be tax writeoffs.

Which is a pretty good way to guarantee that good adaptations won't be
made.

A bad adaptation is worse than no adaptation at all.

Yes, excellent movie. I wouldn't mind more of that 🙂

I did give some thought to how one might design the Memento game
- but the conclusions tended to revolve around injecting the player
with memory loss drugs between levels, and that seems a bit extreme

Silent Hill is being made. I hope for the best. Also Final Fantasy VII:
Advent Children looks cool.

Vampire: Bloodlines could be interesting. Fallout 1 & 2 too.

Also, F.E.A.R. could be a good movie - it borrows from a lot of them anyway

Pitch Dark was just a remake of Alien in another setting, and we already
had great games regarding such a situation with AvP and AvP2 (and D3 😉.

Some would say that, yes...

You'd think the financiers had wizened up about his scam by now,
though.

Good idea(s), because from what I can gather from the article (below) - no
more funding for Uwe from the coffers of German investors.

I hope you can read German, but I think it essentially says that Finance
Minister - Hans Eichel - has put his foot down, and there will be no more
German funds from the German government (and investors) footing Boll's
films.

Boll can still use whatever he has from his remaining "Boll" funds, but then
that's it.

Fro those of you that speak and understand German, please correct me if I
have interpreted this article incorrectly.

Mark
===============================
From FTD Geld & Steuern and Metax.de:

VERLUSTZUWEISUNG abgesehen. Was paradox klingt, funktioniert wie folgt: Bei

He was getting funds from the German government to make bad video game
movies?
