Moving playback from keyboard to laptop

Hello,
i perform live in a duo using purchased midis - i was putting them on floppy discs and running them through my yamaha 2101 keyboard. the keyboard is now inoperable - i am needing to run them through my laptop, but it sounds horrible. where do i start on this. have been reading alot of your stuff...but i am new to this and it makes no sense. i am using a compaq presario 2100 to run my midis through vanbasco. i need help!!!!

You might try a PCMCIA sound card from sound blaster. They have better isolation and wont suffer as much from electronic noise.
