I am installing Sims3 on my computer. And I was just installing on the C drive but I noticed that my computer was slowing down because of the hard drive getting full. So here is the question, Can I move what I have installed to my external hard drive and have the software run as though it was installed on Drive C or will hhave to reinstall it? I am trying to save space on my main hard drive.

P.s. I am sorry if I put this in the wrong place.

Hi there Sarah Clopine,

You can run some software programs and games on an external drive but you should install them not move them. Also, you will experience decreased performance due to the USB connection.
My advise would be to move your data such as: movies, pictures, songs to your external HDD so you will free up some space on your main drive for games and programs. :)

Hope this will help,
