I built my own pc and im planning on a huge upgrade, a total new system more like. i migrated my windows 7 to a sata ssd to increase preformance and i was hoping to keep my same os and settings by doing something similar on an m.2 drive (my current ssd is much too small and cheap) in my new system, is there anyway to do this or am i dreaming too big? I bought my own retail verson of windows 7 professional, my current board doesnt have a m.2 drive slot.

Yes, that is probably dreaming.

You can (probably) transfer the license
Read and do this before you change any parts:

The actual installed OS on a drive?
Probably not. It will likely require a full reinstall.
