So is bing any different in this respect?

That's why I point my webcam up when I'm not using it 😉

I find the truth more refreshing then appalling. Not only that but what he says is truth, good advice, and he has the gonads to say it. Good for him and for those offended, I question what % are doing something they'd rather others not know about.

Of course i still think there are privacy limits, but dont kid yourself that Bing or any other search engine will protect you to the nth degree.

[citation][nom]p05esto[/nom]BING is a great search engine, has so many more features and interactivity than Google. [/citation]
Unfortunately it fails at the most important point: results. Search for 255.255.255.255 in Google and you get wikis on classful networks. In Bing you get something about Hilton hotels. I'm still using Bing though, purely because I don't like Google.

What concerns me here is bad journalism. What the CEO stated was that they were all accountable to the Patriot act and that would include Bing (Microsoft) also. Since when has Microsoft been counter government? I'll tell you it last happened on the 5th of never. Microsoft has and always will work hand in hand with one of their biggest customers....The US Government. You guys are fools if you think Bing is protecting your porn searches from Big Brother. Here is your sign...../stupid

What can google possibly keep from me that I don't input myself? All my search phrases? Oh boy, I'm in trouble, lol.

Does this concern the search engine or other things?

I don't see what the big deal is. Did Schmidt say something that those of us who have been using/building the internet since 1994 didn't already know? How is the Patriot Act Eric Schmidt's fault? How is Google hurting anyone's privacy by doing what they are legally bound to do by our BS federal laws? The fact that Schmidt is being so forthright about these facts only proves that he believe in honesty and in keeping Google's users informed about the risks of online searches. I would be far more concerned if Schmidt were telling people not to worry about the trail their searches leave. Anyone who really cares about their search privacy can easily use any number of free web proxies such as HideMyAss.com. Regardless of the individual privacy policies of Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc, they are ALL bound by US law and therefore their privacy policies are meaningless to law enforcement and US law. I'm much more concerned with what our laws allow law enforcement to do with people's data than I am Google.

BTW, I've tried BING and Google still works waaaaaaay better on about 95% of my searches. I'll keep taking my chances with Google. :)
