Hi

I am wondering whether the codec used for capturing and the codec for
encoding should be the same for best quqlity.

Thanks

Your question sounds a little mixed up :)

What hardware/program are you using for capturing?

And what program are you using to edit your video?

HI

My capture program is Scenalyzer and edit program is Adobe Premier
Pro.

After editing I export in Premiere to an avi file. I then convert to
mpeg with the Mainconcept encoder and burn in Nero Expression. I
notice a lot of processing in Nero and wonder whether this further
degrades quality.

Thanks

There is, of course, a special forum just for P-Pro

There are lots of tutorials at http://www.dvdrhelp.com

In GENERAL your DVD writing program SHOULD simply take MPEG input and
create the file structure needed for a DVD and not do any work on the
files themselves... but that is something you need to find out in the
help files or from the vendor of Nero
