the name of the thread is the model number on the mother board i need a CPU for plain and simple. I would like to find a CPU preferably duel core that will work in this motherboard, the thing is on the specs for this motherboard don't say anything about duel cores however i am pretty sure i read that it can be done. Basically i would like to know if anyone has seen or knows what the best CPU i can pop in a (HP a1130n) MS 7093 ver .120. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Ok i found a bit of a hitch my current bios is 3.47 and i need 3.9 according to the site i found the MS 7093 vers .302. i was able to locate the bios for that MS 7093 Ver .302 that is the bios version 3.9 however i don't know if it will work and i know that messing up something like this will fry my board

Sure looks like it and does not surprise me at all!

I am having a huge problem finding evidence that say i can use this bios update on my MOBO. I mean i really thank you for all your help but at this point i just can't seem to pull the trigger on this bios update with out more concrete evidence

That is mainly cause of the heatsink or what? Also i am eyeballing some Toledo 4400+ but i cant' tell from looking at the wiki what the TPD is its either 89W or 110W (Edit) found it, its 110W but i have to ask why you say 95W limit?

Ok i think i found a Brisbane 4400+ and according to what is said here it should work? the Brisbane is 90nm and 65W. Which kinda brings me to my next question is there any real differences between say Toledo or Brisbane performance wise?

Scratch the Brisbane found out its AM2

OK i flashed the Mobo had a bit of a time figuring it out because it wasn't MSI branded board but OEM by HP and kept reading in forums to add /nlb to the command line but it was /nbl for no bios lockout (i had no clue). took a little bit of time to load windows the first time so that scared me but all is well with the new MSI bios also found a Opteron 148 (2.2 GHz) dual core so for cheap only $25 so i will be posting how it goes when i get that CPU installed

If anyone knows if i would see a difference between a 2.2 and a 2.6 dual cores on this board also what do you guys think will it work? below i have a couple of links please let know 1 if you think that it will work and 2 will i see any benefit from the .4 speed increase.
