I have a Phatnoise digital car audio system which has a removable HDD encased in a special cartridge. Music files on that cartridge can be managed on the computer via a special USB cradle and with the Phatnoise Media Manager software.
I attempted to replace the HDD in the cartridge with a Crucial MX200 500GB SSD and a mSATA-IDE 2.5" adapter, which physically fit well. But it doesn't work because the Crucial SSD has 4K-byte sectors. Apparently the Phatnoise system expects disk drives with 512-byte sectors.
My laptop currently runs a WD Blue 3D NAND SSD (WDS500G2B0A) 500GB drive and it has 512-byte sectors. The same WD Blue is also available in M.2 form factor (WDS500G2B0B). But it is not available in mSATA. Are there any other mSATA SSDs with 512-byte sectors that I could try instead of the Crucial MX200?
