I came home from work the other day to find that my system was still on but had no signal. I figured it was just frozen so I restarted only to find my motherboard wasn't posting any more. I thought something just came loose so I reseated all the hardware and nothing. I have tried several different combinations of ram in all the slots and tried several gpu's but still nothing.

All the fans on spin (case, gpu, cpu) and all lights turn on. The HDD starts to spin and the cpu I think is running because it does heat up without the fan on it. For whatever reason though, the motherboard will not post. I don't get any beeps or post codes.

I have run through the guide posted here but that did not solve anything

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
XIGMATEK Dark Knight cpu fan
MSI 790FX-GD70
Sapphire HD 5870 4gb (I have also tried a Sapphire HD 4870 x2 and XFX HD 4870)
GSKILL RAM - 2gb x 4 DDR3-1333
hec Raptor 1100CM - 1000w
SilverStone FT01 case
Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm - 1tb
Windows 7 64bit
(Nothing is overclocked)

I pretty sure its a problem with the motherboard but I would like to get some feedback on any possible fixes before I go out and start ordering new parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I didn't know that. I'll have to try that tomorrow. I'm having my dad come over with a volt meter before I go to work.

I did pop the battery but that that didn't do anything. I also tried to the reset button directly on the mobo with no success either. I didn't try the jumpers but I'd have to pull the manual to get that done. I'll do that tomorrow when I have the volt meter.

Ok, a bit of an update. The power supply to the motherboard is supplying 12.2 volts so that's not the issue. I also checked out my manual, it didn't have anything about CMOS jumpers. I'm pretty sure the only way to reset it is with the reset button.

I did notice that the HDD activity light on the motherboard is solid red regardless if the hard drive is plugged in or not. I don't remember if it was like this yesterday but I suspect it was.

Any more ideas?
