I built my dad a new work computer and I used the MSI Tomahawk B350 motherboard. However, whenever I turn it on the VGA warning light comes on. I have never been able to get the computer to work, no OS is installed. How do I fix this?

Solution
what CPU is installed? Ryzen 1xxx series CPU's do not have a GPU onboard and will require a GPU in the PCIe slot. Ryzen 2xxx series may require a BIOS update before the GPU will be recognized, what RAM is installed?

this guide is handy.
step 17 is the speaker connected?
canned diagnostic speaker rant
The diagnostic speaker is the motherboards main diag feedback device.
the motherboard may be telling you where the problem is.
my speakers have this plug

I use lamp wire but any stranded wire will do. literally any stranded wires. strip one end like so...

attach the stripped end into the speaker spring clips on the speaker.
the other end of the wire should be trimmed like so the semi strip

by doing a semi strip the wire case is now the socket.
plug one wire to the first pin, and the second onto the fourth pin.
power on the system and listen for beeps
end canned rant

record the pattern and number of beeps, the beeps can tell you what the issue is.

Wow, I didn't realize I needed a GPU. Do you know what would be the cheapest low quality gpu at the moment? This is a strictly work computer and just needs to be able to run 720p video.
