hello,

im upgrading my rig and bought a M.2 970 evo SSD from samsung.
now my current board doesnt have M.2 cause its a Z87-K
I also read a few things about that your mobo needs to support NVMe to fuly benefit from your M.2 drive. now im not really into this.
my question is
i want to buy MSI B360 Gaming Pro Carbon and I have a M.2 970 EVO SSD
will I get the full benefit?

Solution
If you have already the correct proc, mobo and ram, just go ahead and get that Samsung EVO 970, if you want.
BTW,
Personally, for normal home usage incl. gaming, there is no real big noticeable difference between normal SATA SSD and NVMe SSD. I would rather get the bigger capacity for the same price.
However, you should have less cable running around inside your PC by using m.2 SSD. I would see this as advantage too.
