Hi. I just purchased an MSI G46 motherboard and the following equipment:
AMD FX 8350, LiteOn DVD-CD burner/reader, 16gb of 1600mhz DDR3 RAM and am using a GTX 460 as my card. When I start my computer, I get a series of short beeps and then they stop. Everything runs, but there is no monitor out. I then tried pulling components (except the CPU) out one at a time, then would turn the computer on to see if I got a clean POST. Every time, the same thing. My CPU is running what seems to be hot, but I am not familiar with 125w CPUs. Its fan adjusts and works fine, so I am not sure what could be wrong. When I pulled all of the components besides the CPU, I got a continuous beeping that would occur in short bursts. Can I get some help?

Solution
Then it looks like a monitor or cable issue.
I suggest using the old monitor until making all working.
Now power off, insert the second RAM module and see if POST-ing.

Just used an old dell monitor and got monitor out. It was asking me to select a boot device. That was using a DVI to 15 pin monitor cable converter on DVI out number 1. What should my next move be?

It posted. I got a message saying that RAM configuration was changed and so I should configure my my system in the BIOS. I will now attempt to install all 16GBs of RAM and get a POST.

Posted. I will now step away to eat and then put it together with all components in the case. Then I will try to load an OS.

It works. I get a proper post and can easily enter the BIOS. Once I get my copy of Windows 7, I will be able to run a real test.

I did the install, it said it would restart but now there is a flashing white line on the screen and nothing loading. The post has passed but it is not finding the boot device. However, it is not telling me that it is not finding it. I.E., no message saying that there is no boot device. What could be going on?

If I remove all boot devices and restart, I get this:

EFI Sell version 2.31 [4.653]
Current running mode 1.1.2
map: Cannot find required map name.

Press ESC in 10 seconds to skip startup.nsh, any other key to continue.

If I wait or skip, I get a "Shell>" icon below the "Press ESC in 10 seconds to skip startup.nsh, any other key to continue." bar. If I enter anything next to the Shell> icon it will say

'(whatever I entered)' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Any idea?
