My laptops display went black after I replaced the SSD and everything else works fine I even played a game on my TV. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to fix the display, could it be a driver issue or maybe defective motherboard? The display ribbon is the obvious one but nothing's frayed and its secure in the laptop ((on both ends)) I use it for school and I'd still like to be able to.

You may have disabled internal display using a Function key. Also there is another Function key to disable display when HDMI or DisplayPort cable is plugged in.

On my girl's Acer laptop I can disable display using Fn+F5 keys, there is also Fn+F9 and in it I can either clone display, expand, or choose internal or external display.

The GS65 doesn't have anything on the f9+FN but the f5+FN do and when I tried that last time I got nothing

Ok I found an image of that keyboard looks like Fn+F2 is Switch Screen, try that, select primary monitor only. The image is blurry I think Fn+F3 is disable trackpad but you should try that too. Also Fn+F6 looks somewhat related to screen, try it too. I do hope the laptop's screen still functions.

I do too but I doubt it at this point it seems I wasn't the only one who this happened to, I will probably have to replace the display cable but until then I guess it works well as just a regular computer
