A 144hz monitor will only stop this if you buy one with GSync support. A regular 144hz monitor will help. But tearing will still occur. It is just less noticeable at 144hz. As the monitor refreshes more rapidly. The only way to stop it is to have FPS and Hz in sync.

VSync works, as you see, but is limited to the few modes the monitor supports or doing x2 divisions (like jumping from 60FPS to 30FPS). GSync is more flexible. The monitor instead has a wide range of rates it supports. So, it will fluctuate...
Ok thank you guys a lot, turning v sync on does solve this problem. The thing is, im now locked to 60fps. Am i right that new monitor would help (144hz)? i have the old one with VGA connector using display port to vga adaptor.

The monitor instead has a wide range of rates it supports. So, it will fluctuate Hz on demand to keep in sync with the FPS output. It isn't absolutely perfect but a major improvement. There is also Freesync which is similar to GSync but it is for AMD GPU. You have nVidia.

That being said. What is wrong with 60FPS? Any higher number you got before was just wasted electricity. Since your monitor can only display 60FPS. It was never capable of displaying those extra frames. Without knowing any better. You were already stuck at 60 FPS. The only difference is now you don't have tearing.
