Hi All,

Due to BF sales, the X570 is very close to the B550 pricing (204.99 CAD vs. 259.99 CAD). I will be using the following components:
AMD Ryzen 5800x
EVGA GeForce 3080 XC3
g.skillz Trident Z neo 2x16 gb 3600mhz ddr4

What would be the preferred option for future proofing, maximizing frames (pc will be used mainly for gaming and occasional streaming) and overclocking? I would not be utilizing the additional pci4.0 lanes etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Matthew,

You dont want to game or stream over a wifi network, its NOT great.
Use a cable when possible.
Im not seeing an audio difference between the two.
The only major point as far as I can tell is that the tomahawk has more usb ports.

Lets be honest here... there arent major differences in this price bracket. at about 400 cad you can get a msi emg unify or an asrock taichi. which are great motherbaords for high end overclocking.

bottom line, I would not lay awake from A or B. I would get this ( no wifi)
else I would get the tomahark since there is also a cashback action.

Hi Superninja,

Thanks for your response. Just to clarify, I will be wired but I like the flexibility the Wifi option provides if it's price negligible. If I was able to secure the MSI Gaming Edge for roughly the same price as the ASRock would you still recommend that one? I have researched that both MSI options I'm considering have some of the best VRM's in their class which allow further overclocking.

What makes you recommend that specific ASRock board?

Thanks,
