MSI Z97 Gaming 5 no post with code 52/53

Hi guys,

I just built a new computer with MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard, but the motherboard won't boot/post with code 52/53.
I can successfully power on the motherboard, CPU fan is working, video card light turns on, and HD is spinning. The mobo then went through a series of debug code. But after the code reaches 48 it seems like it is stuck there.
The code slowly go from 48 to 51, then finally stuck at 52 or 53 after 5-10 minutes. According to the manual, code 52/53 means early memory initialization.

Components of my computer:
CPU: i7 4790K Devil's Canyon 4.0GHz LGA 1150
Motherboard: MSI ATX DDR3 2600 Z97 Gaming 5
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 100ME 4GB
Hard Drive: Seagate Surveillance HDD ST2000VX003 2TB
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 500R
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 80+ Gold 750W

I tried using only 1 stick of RAM (tried both sticks) in all 4 DIMM slots, but still got the same results. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hi, Try firstly making sure that the RAM stick is properly inserted. If still no go. I suggest removing the CPU and checking the socket if any bent pins.

Thanks for the reply alexoiu! The issue turned out to be the graphics card not correctly connected.
