Microsoft Natural Keyboard model 1048, suddenly my Number Pad stopped working, the Num Lock dings when you hit the button & the light goes on & off when pressed. No Num keys work except the Enter key will do it's thing as does the Delete key, all else do not do anything? Any way to fix it or is it Toast. The rest of keyboard works just fine? Could post a picture of the keyboard if I could figure out how to do that task.

Good keyboard hate to have to dump it but oh well need a number pad working

Try another keyboard with a known working Numpad on your computer.

Try your 1048 on another known working computer.

Determine if the problem follows the keyboard or stays with the system.

= = = =

Run the built in Windows troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" to find and fix buggy or corrupted Windows files.

Probably too obvious, but you didn't accidently hit the Num Lock did you?
No I stated I checked the # lock on &7 off several times, it dings but no one home.

Being a Network tech the obvious thing to do is move it to see if the issue follows, I thought about that but got off track & didn't do it. Guess i'm getting old. Well guess what, the keyboard works OK on my other PC. So I put it back in my PC & plugged it into 2 different USB port & it still doesn't work here. Any thing else I might try? Something else pressing various # keys it will move the cursor in different direction, no rhyme or reason to it? The upper # keys above the letter keys work OK?
