Thanks. Yes, I was sure that no other copies were present. And I didn't turn
system restore on. Anyway, for another problem, I re-installed the whole
WinMe again, and this gives me a chance to track the problem. So far, I
discovered that the msvcrt.dll was first replaced by a Chinese add-on system
with the version of 6.0.8168.0, and the last modified date of 15 Mar 2005 -
the day I installed the Chinese program. But I still have no idea how come
the msvcrt.dll became as the version of 6.0.8797.0 on the date of 6 Apr
2000. Right now, I already replaced it back to the original one, and keep
track on it as I continue the installation of other programs.
