Is there anyway to unlock / force multipliers above 12x with the A64 4000+?

tia

AMD A64 4000+ (SH7-CG) (11 x 247mhz 2717mhz)
MSI K8n Diamond SLi
2 x 512mb CMX512-3200XL (Corsair TwinX) (247mhz) 2.5-3-3-8
2 x Gigabyte GF6800 Ultra's pci-e (430/1200)
Win XP Pro (SP1)
Coolermaster aquagate watercooler for cpu (idle 33 C / load 40 C)

The 4000+ are locked - basically like a locked version of the FX51
(or53). I guess you have to spend the extra $ for the unlocked chip.

Huh?
Your Overclocking, right?
You'll get better Bandwidth off of just more FSB then you will
off of changing the multiplier. Hard to remember, my 2200+
overclocked @ 2 GHz more then a few ways.
Also by changing the Multiplier, but just higher FSB I think
was close to 500 - 1,000 MIPS more in Sandra.
Though it's not a huge Difference, it is still a big enough one
to make some Apps. run faster.
Hope this helps you to Overclock..

You don't think there's such a thing as an A64 4000+ ?

That should've had a > in front of it.
4000+ is what he's saying he has.
They're coming out with more as far as I know too.
Soon we will be talking about our new 10000+ cpu.
& how to Overclock the thing.
I must've messed it up.
:-D That's a smile with teeth on AIM.

Yo, 10000+ sempron (runs at 1600 MHz) (performance rating derived from
grandpa's old timex)

Go for a higher FSB and up your RAM voltage.

If your RAM is holding you back, do as I did get some of the new Samsung
TCCD equiped RAM.
Got some G-Skill here and it is good for 275FSB 7-3-3-2.5 1T
(boots into XP @300FSB+ 😀 with those timings to!)
a 12x multiplier is more than enough here for my A64 4000+ (SH7-CG)*8)
If your worried about latency, 251FSB 7-3-3-2.5 1T is the same as
200FSB 5-2-2-2 1T.
