I've heard of pc wake issues with having two monitors with different connections to the PC. Which of these combos would be the best/have the least issues?
  • 1x VGA, 1x DP
  • 1x VGA, 1x HDMI
  • 1x DVI-D, 1 x HDMI
  • 1x DVI-D, 1x DP
My graphics card has 3x DP, 1x HDMI, and 1x DVI-D. The monitor I'm looking to add has 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x D-sub, 1x HDMI 1.4. The current monitor only has 1x DVI-D and 1x VGA.

Thanks!

RX570 won't output analog, so VGA ports are out.

Get it while it is at this price:

$190

FreeSync Premium on such an inexpensive monitor, pretty cool. You can always buy a pivoting monitor stand if you really need that feature. Your AOC choice doesn't have tilt either as far as I can tell.

This may be an decent alternative to the HP that does have tilt:

Viewsonic XG2705, but it is 27" which lowers the pixel density a bit.

I wouldn't think you would have much trouble with that. DisplayPort can be a bit tricky sometimes, but usually just means turning the monitor off and on again. Get whatever new monitor you want and see what happens. Not sure I would be buying any monitor with a VGA port in this day and age. Probably not that high end. If you list your budget and what you want in terms of size and resolution, can probably point you towards a decent one.

VGA is not really an option. DVI-D doesn't carry the appropriate analog signal, nor do HDMI or DisplayPort. You would need an active adapter to make that work. Older GPUs have DVI-I ports that carry the digital and analog signals. If your GPU did not come with a DVI to VGA adapter, it likely does not have the capability to do it on its own. A definitive answer if you provide the GPU model in question.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry, I should have been more specific.

The graphics card is an RX 570. I'm using an older monitor now, a Dell S199WFP (this is the one that has
1x DVI-D and 1x VGA).

For the new monitor, I'm looking for 1080p, 23-24inch, height-adjustable, swivel, tilt, pivot, and as much refresh rate and as low latency as possible. Budget is less than $200.

From what I've seen so far, the top 2 contenders seem to be:
AOC 24G2SP: https://my.aoc.com/product/24G2SP
ASUS VA24EQSB: https://www.asus.com/us/displays-desktops/monitors/eye-care/va24eqsb/techspec/

But the AOC24G2SP goes out of stock quickly. I'd appreciate any other recommendations you have!

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll take these into consideration. I do heavily want pivot, since my desk space is pretty limited and am probably going to use the monitor in vertical a lot of the time. So, I also won't be considering anything above 24inches. But thanks for the links, this helps me compare!
