Hey everyone, so this problem is infuriating. My acer 1440p monitor keeps going to sleep periodically in the middle of games. I'll be playing and it goes black and pops up the acer and energystar logo and comes back on after about 10 seconds.

I have the latest nvidia driver installed, have tried it on both hdmi and dual link dvi, nothing is working. Also of note, the monitor is rated for 144hz, but in the monitor information, geforce experience, and display adapter settings, it's only showing 60hz and doesn't give me the option to take it any higher. Someone please HELP!

Alot of monitors require the use of DVI-D cables to get 144hz, I have a Acer as well and it is the same way.

As far as the sleep issue, two things to check, first monitor the thermals of your GPU, it may be overheating during long sessions and two what sort of PSU do you have along with your complete system?

its a corsair 850 platinum. My temps seem fine, I ran a couple 15 minute passes at 1440p on furmark and it peaked at 72c. Also of note, for some reason both of my monitors are showing up in device manager as generic pnp monitors. Ive checked for updated drivers but windows says they are up to date.

Update: I ran hwinfo while trying to use the pc, when it starts losing signal to the monitors all of my temps are super low. Cpu and gpu were both in the low 30s. Someone please help.

I haven’t tried getting them from the acer site, I will try that shortly. I have tried both monitors separately, with different cables and the problem still happens. My gut is the gpu, but I would think a dying gpu would cause some screen tearing or artifacting, something. The picture is flawless though.

Another update: I ran a 20 minute furmark pass with no issues. Then I noticed I was running furmark at 1920x1080. I switched it to 2560x1440 which is my primary monitors native resolution. The second I hit start the monitors started going to sleep. I closed furmark and retried on 1440p multiple times and the issue begins immediately, so the issue appears to only happen at 1440p. Any ideas?
