My 7360 score was with overclocked video card @ 220/515. you will notice the power strip in bottom right corner. thats the easiest way to overclock stock drivers when coolbits doesnt work.

This score is impossible with his p4 1.7ghz and det 3 drivers at that overclock, and his own link proved it. When he linked to a similar 3dmark2001 score as his with a similar setup, I emailed the links owner, that person told me that to reach 7500 on his gf3 he needed to overclock to like 260/560, fugger is a liar, always will be. Furthermore, he will always be a troll.

No Overclock+stock hsf=GOOD!

After, rereading the thread several times, I believe I have to agree with you. Fugger kept twisting the story. He kept saying something different to suit his purpose. Yes, Matisaro, after painstakingly reading the thread (no, I DO HAVE A LIFE), I have finally come to the conclusion that Fugger is a liar, or perhaps, he just distorts the truth? The thing is, it doesn't matter, 3DMARK2001 is not as CPU dependent as it is graphics card dependent. So what did Fugger lie about exactly? From my understanding of Fugger's statements, I believe he either lied about the resolution he ran or lied about how much he overclocked his card or he just lied about his score, period. You choose. I did not realize at first that this was using the Detonator 3 drivers. YES, FUGGER DID LIE ABOUT SOMETHING. IT HAS BEEN PROVEN BEYOND ANY DOUBT. BTW, as a little test, I tried lowering my bump mapping detail to best performance and I reran the 3DMARK2001. I found that I still could not break 4000. The max I could get was around ~3800 on my GeForce2 MX-400 clocked at 260/260. That's up from around ~3600 with no tweaks other than overclocking. All 100% stable, of course.

Well, I'll tell you why I actually believed Fugger. He has a very sneaky way of manipulating the truth to suit his interests. Fugger would make a good terrorist, hehe.

this is what we hardware testers call an "Erreta".
now give it up FUGGER, go read some Intel bible on "How to make a furom lough their ass off at you in 10 posts!".

For what it is worth here is my top score in 3dMark2001 on my 1.2ghz T-Birdy, SDram system (tweaked of course  ). It is an IWILL KK266, GF3 Ti200 from VisionTech (very overclockable, stable, and no artifacts up to 445/540 core/mem).

<A HREF="http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2177070" target="_new">T-Bird 1.2ghz, GF3 Ti200, ~7500 3dMark2001</A>

If I fooled around more I probably could beat 7500 points but who really cares!!

445/540 core/mem? That's not possible!! You double your core speed? How did you manage that? 540 I can believe but 445 core is impossible.

OOPs, I ment 245/540, hehe. At 250mhz core speed 3dMark2001 will periodically freeeze up. At 550mhz mem speed I get 6 artifacts when using artifact tester. I might be able to squeze a few more points (not worth the time) by maybe going 248/545 etc. etc.

here's a surprise for you...its a retail R8500

😡 <A HREF="http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2096468" target="_new">P4 + SDRAM</A> = <b>BAD</b> 😡

yeah, 3dmark shows video card comparisons and processor comparisons. It showed my same system with a radeon 8500 at 8299. And on the processor comparison i beat the P4 2200 MHz with the same video card, but the overclocked Athlon scores were outrageous.

For clarifications sake, I have a 1.5Ghz, 1.8Ghz, and 2.0Ghz now. Weather I used the 1.5 Overclocked to 1.8 or Overclocked the 1.8Ghz. they are still both my machines.

I had one GF3 at the time. and My original 1.5Ghz was in my gaming machine (with GF3) untill I saw the need to switch CPU's around.

If I remember correctly. I scored 7330 in Windows ME and det3 drivers, I had score posted for a long time. Windows 98SE can get you about 200 points over winME. Also I could have resorted to LODbias adjustments (overkill)

AMD_Man, I have gained alot of respect for your from your reply. Ill be sure to convey that in my future posts.

Here is my system @ 2Ghz with a slightly <A HREF="http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2269934" target="_new">tweaked Radeon 8500</A>.

This is a new score I posted on i850 Chipset.

Ooops, just realized your score was from a GF3, My bad!

Well, I just my Radeon 8500 retail and I have my score, 7227. Yes, I know, that's pretty low for my system but, remember, this is completely untweaked and not overclocked. Also, I am running Windows XP right now which is probably taking at least 500 points from my 3DMark.

I don't think that's a fair comparison! You are using a 1.47GHz Athlon XP (1700+, I assume), while I am using a 1.33GHz Athlon. That difference is probably 300-500 points, at least.

Also I noticed that you said you overclocked your card! Mine is unoverclocked, untweaked.

Here's my <A HREF="http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2322002" target="_new">score</A> - 8137 3DMarks 2001

System Tested: Windows XP, Athlon XP 1800+ (1533MHz), MSI K7N420 nForce, 512MB PC2100 CL2.5 (set to CL2), Gainward GeForce3 PowerPack !!! Golden Sample overclocked to 240 core/500 memory - GeForce3 Ti500 reference speeds.

This is true, and I sorta took it into account. I just figured the Radeon 8500 would be lapping my card by around 1000 points+, even on a lower system, and was surprised it was as close as it was. ON the 1.4GHz T-Bird I ran, my score was pretty close to my current one; around the 6500-6600 range.

I just realized that Windows XP maybe taking up to 1000 points from my 3DMark2001 score!!! Check <A HREF="http://www.rivastation.com/review/r8500_1/r8500_3dm2001_1024x768-32.gif" target="_new">this</A> out!

Where can I get an artifact tester? I did some overclocking on my new rig and just broke 9000 points in 3DMark2001 with Windows XP.

I don't see any artifacts in games, but I'd like to double check with an artifact/image quality testing program.
