[SOLVED] My 860 EVO suddenly 2 times faster than my 970 EVO Plus!!!?

Hello,

I recently bought a 970 EVO Plus and installed it yesterday. I noticed that my SATA SSD has ridiculouos speeds according to Samsung Magician and CrystalDiskMark.

The 860 EVO is literally 2 times faster than my 970 EVO Plus which I guess is pretty good for me but doesnt make sense according to the benchmark tests.

The becnhmark results for my 970 EVO Plus are the same as from the tests.

Does anybody know whether my 860 EVO took some kind of special drugs or something?

You turned on RAPID mode for the 860 EVO.
That big number is reading your RAM speed, not the drive.

The one drive looks almost full. That will hurt performance.

So I did disable the "RAPID STATUS" in Samsung Magician and disabled the RAPID mode in the BIOS menu. And you were right... The results look much more to make sense now. But does activating rapid mode/status increase performance somewhere?

I tried it.
Saw zero user facing benefit, beyond that astounding benchmark number.

So I turned it off.
