My administrator icon in windows xp disappeared. It was working ok when I turned my computer off last night. When I turned my computer on today, I only had a guest icon. Please advise as to how I can find it.
do you remember the admin pass ? If yes then hit Ctrl+ ALT + Del key when you see the guest icon, put those in login box and hit enter.
are you able to login using above ?

It may have been disabled.
Right click my computer, click Manage.
Under local users and groups, Click users
highlight user you want, click action, properties.

Thanks for your suggestion and sorry for my late response. There isn't an actual icon anymore, it's now a windows logon window with guest in the user line and a line for password. Alt+ctrl+del dosn't change it and when I clear out guest and put in admin with the password it say "incorrect domaine or user id". I have no idea why it changed from an icon to a windows logon window. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
