My BluRay rom (LG UH12NS30) Isn't Playing

I'm on Windows 10. I just installed it and popped in a BluRay disc of Star Wars. I noticed it didn't play right away, I clicked on File Explorer to see what's up. It shows that my PC does recognize it but is waiting to burn "desktop.ini" onto the disc. Am I supposed to let it do that?

Is BluRay player softer installed? Windows cannot play it by itself.
If so, is autoPlay turned on for the LG?

if you bought an OEM version of the LG BD burner, then you didn't get any software with it - download VLC (VideoLan) http://www.videolan.org/index.html

I already have VLC. I've tried opening the disc through VLC but I just get a stream of errors. Along the lines of "requires BD+ libraries"

I suggest you read up on BD+ but basically the disk is encrypted and is not intended to play on a device that can record the contents.

I assume the Star Wars BD is a BD+??

I've got three LG BD rewriters, an internal 5.25", model WH14NS40, an external model BE14NU40 and a laptop lg burner, BT30N in an external enclosure and none have had any trouble reading disks - i'm sure some of those had to be BD+ encrypted.
