Hello,
hey i have a dell dimension 4400 and i just got his new video card called ati radeon 9700 and i opened up my pc and switched that video card with the old one i had ! and i took the molex connecter i think called p7 and i plugged on the side of my video card and closed my computer and plugged everything in and all of a sudden i plug in the power supply and the screen says no signal and the Pc beeps three times ! i don't know what that means i mean i haven't touched anything else but the molex connecter ! SO IT COULDN'T BE ANY THING ELSE besides the fact i have to get a new power supply! ANYWAY PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Alright i cant...,my computer is clicking inside and the lights on the dell dimension 440 are not lighting up...just the light inside the computer...*Sigh* please dont tell me its my hard drive it has to be soemthing else....i have my stuff saved in there! Dx and the system wont boot! I dont know what to do! Please help

Close it up, stand it up, and see if the clicking turns into a diff sound... I have no real idea what it is, but my suspicion is your CD drive trying to spin the disk inside and since it's on it's side the disk may not be catching the spin...

I might suggest opening a new forum and briefly describing your problem with a link to this thread. We need more minds on this because I am no expert and I know for a fact there are more intelligent troubleshooters out there. I'll continue to supply what information I can, but you might be best getting a second opinion on what's going on...

This same forum. Open a new thread on Tom's and link to this thread. People seem to be neglecting this thread so reopen it and link them to our discussion here. Those lights indicate a memory problem. Do you have any other memory sticks? If not, take one out and try booting with just one DIMM filled. If that doesn't boot, take that stick out and put the other one in it's place. If that doesn't work, you seem to have two faulty memory sticks.

The same way you opened this one to begin with. "Ask the Community" Then type a brief description of your problem/s and make sure you link to this thread so they don't have to reask you all the same questions and re-troubleshoot all that we went through.

You're going to have to appeal to the ancients on this one. It's some old technology that, I assume, a lot of the folks on here are unfamiliar with. You'll have to find someone that's been around a while with some experience. Maybe seek out the billboard section and see about PMing one of the top responders...

I had the same problem just now, pc starts fine no signal so im like ok wtf. Long story short i just had to unplug my external usb drive when the pc is off and i got my monitor signal back everything working fine...... Not the first time usb stuffs try to screw me around :)
