My computer (both online and offline) is running very
slowly. It gets jammed up really easily. When i log on to
the internet loads of adverts load and the internet
freezes all the time. I have run anti-virus and got
nothing and my computer space is less than 1/2 full. Can
anyone help? Im running windows XP and don't know a great
deal about computers! Thanks, Tom

You didn't mention 'which' anti-virus you used, if you
used a basic one it could've only checked for trojans - if
this is the case try a Spyware searcher - the problem
could be spyware that your av did not detect is monitoring
your actions slowing your PC as in a lot of cases

You need to scan your computer for spyware as well
as viruses. Download "Ad-Aware Personal" from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/, and "Spybot Search &
Destroy" from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/.
(Both are free.) Run them both. Also, upgrade to at least
256MB of memory if your computer has less.

Or could it be that AVPs are designed to detect viruses and not spyware...?
Learn the difference.
