My computer supports DDR2 ram model pentium dual core 2.6 ghz

So 1st i was having 2 gb ram 1gb×2 800mhz in both slots so i purchased a 2gb ddr2 800mhz ram and take out my both ram and just installed in aloneley in 1 slot and try to run my pc it doesnt starts then i installed 1gb ram on another slot then also pc doesnt starts then i took out 2gb ram and try to run pc on the single 1gb ram in 1 slot only it starts then i installed 1gb×2 again as same and it runs where the problem is coming

What mobo/CPU and model #s of the DRAM - may simply not be compatible
