My Computer Wont power off!?!

For the past few months my pc has been doing this thing where when i go to shut it down it starts to shut down, but then the screen goes blank and the computer stays on with the hdd light blinking. If i wiggle the mouse whilst its in this state it goes to the lock screen as if it thought it was in sleep mode. Whats causing this issue?

IS your default setting sleep mode for the power button?

it a bios glitch happens a lot to asus mb. shut down...turn the power off from the power supply on/off switch and pull the power from the wall so the mb drains then clear the cmos. then check that your running the newest bios file for the mb.
